Frustration Mounts as Sacramento's Natomas Community Grapples with Airplane Noise

Residents of the Natomas area in Sacramento are growing increasingly frustrated with the persistent airplane noise that disrupts their daily lives. They are eager for their concerns to be acknowledged and addressed, calling for effective measures to reduce noise pollution in proximity to the Sacramento International Airport.

Taking advantage of the Federal Aviation Administration's current initiative to gather public input on airport noise levels nationwide, community members in Natomas are actively advocating for changes to alleviate the noise impact.

Rob Bennett, a long-term resident of a lakeside home in Natomas, understands all too well the challenges of living in a direct flight path of the Sacramento International Airport. The planes make sharp turns eastward, flying directly over his house.

The continuous noise disturbance has taken its toll on residents like Bennett, who express their exhaustion from enduring the incessant sounds.

"We are putting up with it," laments Bennett, emphasizing the strain it puts on their quality of life.

During an interview with KCRA 3, the noise from a passing plane even interrupts the conversation, highlighting the pervasive nature of the issue.

"That was a good one," Bennett remarks, noting that the interruption was relatively mild compared to many others experienced by the community.

The residents of Natomas remain hopeful that their collective voice will prompt necessary action and lead to effective solutions to mitigate the airplane noise that pervades their neighborhood.
